Notes: Yes, Michaels is a FTM transexual. If that offends you, I don't care. House met Michaels during their nephrology residency, while Michaels was still physically female. They really, really hated each other. They started to respect each other, and eventually friendship/sex/romance ensued. Michaels told him first, because he and House were really kind of close, though still only friends with benefits at that point. House just plain thought it was cool, and helped. At one point during the time they were together, house had a run-in with his dad (ironically over the fact he was with a man), and house spilled about his childhood to Michaels. Neither of them really broke it off, they just had to go their separate ways for their careers, and agreed that it should be over for practicality's sake.
